Disruptive Behavior Disorders (DBDs)

These are a group of conditions characterized by difficulties in regulating emotions and behavior, leading to problems with authority, social interactions, and adherence to rules. These disorders are typically first observed in childhood or adolescence and can significantly impact a child’s life at home, school, and in social settings.

Defiance and Noncompliance: Children with DBDs frequently defy authority figures, argue, and refuse to follow rules.

Emotional Dysregulation: They may exhibit excessive anger, irritability, and temper tantrums.

Aggression and Destruction: Some individuals with DBDs may display physical aggression, destruction of property, or bullying behavior.

Impulsivity: They may struggle with controlling impulses, leading to rash decisions and actions.

Social Difficulties: DBDs can lead to problems with peer relationships and social interactions.
