This is a mild, but long-lasting form of depression. It’s also called persistent depressive disorder. People with this condition may also have bouts of major depression at times. Depression is a mood disorder that affects your body, mood, and thoughts
Emotional Symptoms
Depressed Mood: Ongoing sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness (most days for 2+ years)
Irritability: Frequent anger or frustration, often over minor issues
Loss of Interest: Disinterest in hobbies, relationships, or daily pleasures
Feelings of Worthlessness/Guilt: Self-blame, regret, or excessive guilt
Low Self-Esteem: Negative self-image and persistent self-criticism
Hopelessness: Belief that improvement is unlikely or impossible Physical & Cognitive Symptoms
Fatigue: Persistent tiredness, even with rest
Sleep Changes: Insomnia or sleeping too much
Appetite or Weight Changes: Eating significantly more or less, with weight gain or loss
Concentration Problems: Trouble focusing, remembering, or making decisions
Physical Complaints: Headaches, stomachaches, or other unexplained discomforts Behavioral Symptoms
Social Withdrawal: Pulling away from friends, family, or activities
